I went to this dealership for a warranty repair on my vehicle. The service rep made me feel good about it and said if the warranty company approved the repairs all I would owe is the deductible of $100. After some time I received a phone call stating the warranty repairs were approved 100%, and my end would be $679. I asked how and the rep could not answer me saying that the warranty company didn’t cover all costs. So I called the warranty company to ask and the warranty agent was wonderful and told me they were approving everything the shop asked for (totaling $1300 and 7hours labor). I then called the shop back to say this and again the rep was vague and unconvincing on how I owe so much more. At this point I’m enraged at how a power steering pump, inner tie rod ends, and one sway bar bushing can cost $2000. I go to the shop and the rep stated that the warranty company only covers $100/hr for labor but the shop charges $125/hr. I was upset and asked how this dealership sells this warranty and does repairs all the time didn’t know about this in advance I was told “We knew that they don’t cover all the labor cost”. I was really upset that I was lied to and told them as such. They denied lying to me but they pulled a clear bait and switch. I said ok show me how the job costs and extra $700 given I’d only owe $25/hr labor and the deductible. The rep claimed 8 hours for the job totaling $200 and the deductible of $100 and tried very hard to add up to $700. I said I might have been able to understand $400 given the math but $700 is ridiculous. The next day I get a chipper phone call stating magically the new number is $400. When I told them I’m still not paying this they got upset and rather unprofessional and said we don’t want to deal with you. I pick up my car and pay the “diagnosis fee” to be done with them. Now I go to a trusted mechanic and he runs the numbers and according the universal database for all cars he adds up the time he can charge for the job is 3.6 hours……. After pricing the parts and the labor for the job he comes in under $1000. The warranty company paid every dime and I owed him nothing. International Motor Group is not only ripping off their customers but committing warranty fraud. (Oh and by the way yes I swore, I swore a lot. I don’t like being lied to. Good thing I’ve done most of my own auto-mechanic work for years giving me the knowledge to know something was wrong. It sickens me to think of all the people who don’t know anything about cars and just say “oh well, I guess I gotta pay it” and fork over enough cash that places like this get paid twice for the same job. )
